Video Transcript for Review of Performance Tool Automotive Tools - 114 Piece Mechanic Tool Set - PT69VR

Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. And today, we're gonna take a quick look at this 114-piece mechanic tool set. Now, this is going to be a really great set to have at home, in your garage, or in your vehicle to be able to change out anything that might happen on your vehicle or do things around the house. It's just always good to have a nice set of tools. Now, I would consider this probably about a mid-level tool set.

It's gonna be a little bit nicer than just like a basic set of tools because it does give you quite a few more pieces. But if you're gonna be like a full-time mechanic and you're gonna be using these tools day in, day out, you probably wanna get something that is a little bit more on the higher end than this set here. Now, it does come with this blow mold storage case to keep everything organized and together. And it is very easy to get the tools out. I had no problem whatsoever just kind of going through each of these and getting the tools or getting the pieces out.

I do want to mention though, that these sockets are very loose in here. They're not locked down in any way. So, I have found it necessary to use the included foam when you close this to keep everything in place. And I do wanna show this again. So, I have it closed.

And in at least with this case that I have here, you do have to open it with the, there's little arrows here on our latches pointing up. If you turn this upside down and open it, I'm afraid all of those sockets will be scattered when you open this up. So, I have found that it's best to open it with the arrows on these latches pointing up. Everything in here holds nice and solid, so nothing on this side is going to fall out. And then take the foam out.

And even if you don't put the foam in, these will have a tendency to slip out and be scattered all over the place. So, I have found that the foam is essential to keep in the case when you close it and if you're going to carry this around. Now, I'm not gonna go through all of these pieces here. That would take quite some time. But we do have each piece listed on this product page. So, take advantage of looking at that to familiarize yourself with what comes in this. I do wanna mention that you do get three of these drive tools that are high-torque, quick-release, 72 gear teeth ratchets. They're gonna allow for a five degree sweep. And I just pulled out the larger one here and just wanted to show you real quick. Give you the ratcheting sound. And then that quick-release is a very nice feature, so you just push that in and then the socket comes right out. Now, the tools are made of chrome vanadium alloy steel for strength and durability. The combination wrenches are made of high carbon alloy steel. So again, these are well-made tools. I think they're going to hold up for quite some time. And again, comes with 114 pieces. The only other tool that I think would be a great addition to a set like this would be maybe like a pair of pliers. But all in all, you have just about everything that you would need. The overall case dimensions, let me go ahead and put this foam back in, so I don't lose the sockets. The overall case dimensions is gonna be 16 1/4 inches wide by 13 1/4 inches tall and about 3 1/4 inches deep. So all in all, it's a great tool set. I just wanted to be sure that you we're aware of the potential of the sockets themselves falling out of place if you don't use that foam. But I think that's gonna conclude our look today. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me..
